Bilingual Education In Colombia Anne-Marie de Mejia's article shows us the reality of bilingualism in Colombia, which promotes bilingualism policies focused only on English and Spanish, policies such as the national bilingualism program, especially to encourage insertion into the economy and global competitiveness; however, this emphasis on English and Spanish leaves aside other possible foreign languages and native languages such as indigenous languages or Creole. The author also talks about the need to have inclusive policies that do not only take into account the exolingual that concerns the globalized world but also the endolingual that concerns our local context, all this in order to create a more tolerant and inclusive society since minorities are often associated with poverty and underdevelopment.
